It’s The Season – Not for Christmas but for Engagements!

wedding ringMany couples who are in the process of planning a wedding reception  have no idea what is about to happen to them. It’s like the calm before the storm, and a storm is brewing. It’s engagement season. Did you know that 75% of all engagements will happen on Christmas, New Year’s or Valentine’s Day? That means come the New Year, the wedding market will be flooded with thousands of excited newly engaged couples, and they are aggressive to book their wedding professionals.

Websites like TheKnot.com will see a 40% increase in their online activity during this time of year. Generally, the entire wedding market will explode for the next few months. That means if a couple gets engaged during the regular part of the year, you would be best to have all of your major wedding professionals under contract before the storm hits; “Major Wedding Professionals” being defined as the Catering facility, Entertainment, Photography / Videographer. If a DJ is available in December, he might certainly be locked up by early January.

As a direct result of the huge conglomerate of gentlemen going down on knee, bridal shows are plentiful in January and February. Just look online. You will find about 4-6 bridal shows going on every Sunday from now until late March. Up to December 31, you have the advantage. After January 1, you are at a disadvantage for sure. So get out there if you are planning a wedding and put more under your tree than just gifts. Get your team of professionals in order now.
